Welcome to our new discussion board. We want to create a place where we can dialogue on priorities for changing the language of the CPSIA. We also want to discuss specific language for the statute and exchange ideas as appropriate. Welcome, and please dive in! Thanks.

Have you been asked to change the language on all aspects of the CPSIA or has the request been narrowed to only specific portions of the regulation?

A breath of fresh air to realize that someone is finally fighting back about this issue. The baby has been thrown out with the bathwater on this one. Before definitive testing has been done to make statements about thalates companies in the U.S. and Canada are now being asked to take on the full costs of safety testing.
As an adjunct to the testing, where is product being dumped if there are concerns about safety standards? Are the products being destroyed or sent on to unsuspecting customers in other countries?
Thank you Rick for bringing this issue to the forefront.

Thanks for providing an outlet to share ideas and develop real alternatives to the current CPSIA regulations that virtually handcuff cottage industries. I'm anxious to see how this develops.

I have been following the blog for a couple of years now. I am thrilled to see this forum and hope to see alot of discussion about getting this law changed. Will there be a thread to ask questions regarding the law as it is now? Thanks!
